Physical Therapy

Physical therapy aims to help patients recover their physical abilities and motor skills through a specialized, personalized, program of training and exercise. Our mission is to provide our patients with the abilities they need to be able to return home and be mobile, and we accomplish this in an average of just 3-4 weeks! Our patients are so pleased with the caring, personalized attention they receive here that should they, a family member, or a friend need another short term rehab stay, they very often choose to return to us.

Each patient is evaluated upon admission, and is provided with the best course of therapy that meets his or her needs. Patients receive individualized, one-on-one therapy in our penthouse Therapy Suite, overlooking a beautiful, sweeping rooftop patio. Our skilled, friendly therapists have many years’ experience, and focus on providing patients with care and attention in a pleasant, respectful atmosphere.

We use all types of medical treatments to relieve pain and strengthen muscles, including hot packs, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound.

Our state-of-the-art, technologically advanced equipment includes a portable ultrasound unit, a BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) unit, and a CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) machine, which is used for patients with knee replacements or problems with the flexion or extension of their legs.

We provide gait training, both indoors and outside. This helps patients re-learn how to walk after a stroke or a long hospital stay. We have all the necessary equipment to help our patients reach this goal, including rolling and standing walkers, canes, crutches, and loftstrand crutches. Outdoors, we gradually challenge patients to walk up and down inclines, get on and off sidewalks, and go up and down stairs.

We also use Therex (Therapeutic Exercise) to help our patients achieve and maintain fitness, based on each individual patient’s needs and abilities. We have state-of-the-art equipment, such as step machines and weights, which we use to provide rehabilitation for a wide range of disabilities.
