The Alzheimer’s and dementia programs at Forest View give families the peace of mind of knowing that their loved one is being well cared for in an ideal, caring setting.

We offer specialized care for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Our environment is safe and secure, but restraint-free. A wandering alarm system ensures that residents are safe, while at the same time providing them with a greater degree of mobility and independence.

Each resident is evaluated by an interdisciplinary team which develops an individualized care plan. Through speech, occupational, physical therapies and specially designed activities, the team helps residents communicate and accomplish daily activities such as grooming, dressing, and eating. We work with families to identify significant events, people, and places that are unique to each resident, and to decorate residents’ rooms with familiar pictures and small items from home. Recreational opportunities, such as gardening, and cooking, are planned to help facilitate recognition and communication. Finger foods are provided that can be easily handled by residents.

Our staff is trained with frequent in-service seminars on issues surrounding the care needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
